Most states require license holders to complete continuing education every year or two years in order to renew the NASCLA accredited electrical license. We offer state-approved continuing education for trades across the country.

The first step is to review and understand all of the licensing requirements for the specific state license you are seeking. Many states have financial and legal requirements for licensure.
In order to sit for the exam, you must submit an application directly to NASCLA National Examination Database. It's never too soon to start studying for the exam. It covers a broad range of topics and you only have 3 attempts to pass it before you must apply again, at least 1 year after the original application.
Once you feel comfortable with the content and have passed multiple practice exams, it's time to schedule the exam directly through PSI. You must have a NASCLA Candidate ID Number to schedule the exam.
Once you pass the exam, you will receive a physical copy of your passing score at the facility. You may also request electronic transcripts be sent to the licensing agency with whom you will be applying for a license.
Applicants may choose to take the state-specific exam OR the NASCLA exam and the state-specific Business and Law Exam
Applicants applying for a license via reciprocity must also take the state-specific Business and Law Exam
Many states will also require applicants to pass an examination based on the state-specific laws and rules and how they apply to contractors.
