South Carolina requires all Residential Electrical Contractors to obtain a Residential Specialty Electrical License before any bidding or residential Electrical work over $5,000 can take place. All applicants must pass the Business Management & Law exam in addition to one of the Electrician exams offered in South Carolina.
Applicants can elect to sit for either the South Carolina Electrical Contractor Exam or the NASCLA Accredited Exam, which is accepted by multiple state agencies. Both exams are offered by PSI.
