Electrical Contractor
Electrical Contractors are licensed to install, repair, alter, add to, or design electrical wiring, fixtures, appliances, apparatus, raceways, and conduit, including the electrical installations and systems within plants and substations and ALL alarm systems and specialty categories.

HVAC/R Contractor
HVAC/R Contractors (CMC-C) are able to bid work to install and maintain equipment for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, gas piping, and geothermal.

Plumbing Contractor
Plumbing Contractors are unlimited in the execution of contracts to install, maintain, repair, fabricate, alter, extend, or design central air-conditioning, refrigeration, heating, and ventilating systems, including duct work in connection with a complete system.

How do I obtain a license?
To apply for your license, contact the Florida DBPR at 850-487-1395 or visit the Contractor's Board Website.
14 hours of continuing education are required each renewal.

The first step is to obtain pre-approval for your exam. This can be completed through PTI by calling 407-264-0562.
Preparing to pass the State exam is a critical part of the licensing process. Failing the exam can result in substantial delays before you are able to work under your license. We offer industry leading exam prep and all of the required books, at an unbeatable price.
After studying with RocketCert, you will be on your way to passing the required State exam(s) (see below). Contact PSI at 800-733-9267 to begin this process. Testing centers are setup throughout the State in larger cities.
Next you will need to submit to background checks, form a legal entity, obtain all required insurance, and obtain a bond (if necessary).

Which exam do I need to take?
To schedule your construction exam, first obtain pre-approval with PTI by visiting floridaexam.com or call 407-264-0562. After you have been approved, you can schedule your exams with Pearson VUE at 888-204-6230.
Division I contractors (General, Building, and Residential) must pass three examinations: Business & Finance, Contract Administration, and Project Management.

How do I pass the exam?
The Florida exams are open book. The references below are permitted to be tabbed, highlighted, and used during your test! Unfortunately, our online course is NOT permitted to be accessed during the State exam.
