General Contractors are unlimited in the type of work they can do.
Building Contractors are able to work on commercial and residential structures not exceeding 3 stories in height. This includes accessory structures such as garage, guest house, etc.
Residential Contractors are able to work on one, two, and three family residences not more than two stories in height. This includes accessory structures such as garage, guest house, etc.
Certified General Contractor means a contractor who is allowed to contract in any jurisdiction in the State. A Registered General Contractor License holder may only contract in the jurisdiction where they fulfill the specific competency requirements. Division I contractors (General, Building, and Residential) must pass three examinations: Business & Finance, Contract Administration, and Project Management.

The Florida Contractor License exams are open book. The references below are permitted to be tabbed, highlighted, and used during your test! Unfortunately, our online course is NOT permitted to be accessed during the State exam.
