North Carolina Contractor License & Exam Prep
Obtain or Renew Your License in North Carolina
North Carolina offers licenses for various trades and professions. Heating and Plumbing licenses include fuel piping abilities, however a standalone license is also available. To obtain your license, you will need to pass the Business and Law Exam along with your industry specific trade exam(s).
General contractors must complete 8 hours of continuing education annually. Electrical licenses require Continuing Education hours to be completed prior to each renewal. Half of the required hours can be completed online, the others must be completed in a classroom.
