When you’re ready to renew, you must meet additional requirements set forth by the Construction Industries Board (CIB).

• Your Certificate of Trade Name
• Your Certificate of Record of Fictitious Name

Be aware that you must also maintain insurance; it must be workers’ compensation coverage in addition to at least $500k for residential contractors and $1 million for commercial contractors in general liability coverage. Your Certificate of Good Standing must be updated annually.

You must complete the online renewal form, and you might also need to supply the following documents:

• Certificate of insurance coverage
• An affidavit verifying your lawful presence in the United States
• The renewal fee of $75
• The commercial endorsement renewal fee of $100, if applicable

The affidavit is actually the final page of the official application. Note that you must get it notarized.
