Commercial Roofing Contractor
Commercial Roofing Contractors are able to perform the installation, renovation, remodeling, reroofing, reconstructing, repair, maintenance, improvement, alteration, and waterproofing of building roofs using a variety of materials, including shingles, asphalt, and metal. Commercial roofing contractors supervise and manage activities or personnel, supply material, and solicit commercial roofing contracts. They may operate as an individual, firm, partnership, or corporation installing or repairing roofs on residential, commercial and industrial buildings.
What are the requirements to getting a license?
Education & Experience- Pass Commercial Roofing Contractor and Business and Law Exams
- Register business name with secretary of state
- Qualifying party must be at least 18 years old.
- Qualifying party must be an Owner/Officer of a corporation, member of LLC, or general partner of an LLP which is actively engaged in the trade.
Legal & Financial- Obtain $1,000,000 General Liability Insurance
- Obtain Worker's Compensation Insurance or exemption
How do I obtain a license?
To apply for your license, contact the Oklahoma Construction Industries Board at 405-521-6550 or visit OK.gov.
Oklahoma requires each licensee to complete continuing education prior to each renewal. Oklahoma has reciprocity arrangements on a case-by-case basis.

In order to sit for the exam, you must submit the application for licensure to the state. It must include verified education and work experience as required by the state. Once approved, the state will contact you with an exam date and time.
After studying with RocketCert, you will be on your way to passing the required State exam(s) (see below). Pre-approval is required. Testing centers are setup throughout the State in larger cities.

Which exam do I need to take?
Oklahoma Commercial Roofing Contractor applicants must pass two examinations: the Commercial Roofing Contractor and Roofing Business and Law exam.
Upon approving an application, the state board will reach out to schedule a time and date to take the exam.

The Oklahoma Commercial Roofing Contractor exam is open book. This reference is permitted to be tabbed and highlighted! Unfortunately, our online course is NOT permitted to be accessed during the State exam.
