South Carolina General Contractors are able to perform commercial, industrial, and residential work. They may install, replace, or repair buildings, structures, highways, sewers, grading, asphalt or concrete pavings. They are permitted to make improvements of any kind to real property.

The state does not require continuing education to renew this type of license. Also, South Carolina has reciprocity agreements with certain states. This may give you the ability to skip the trade exam if you hold an equivalent license in another state.
