Ohio Contractor License & Exam Prep
Obtain or Renew Your License in Ohio
Prior to bidding on any commercial (electrical, plumbing, hvac, etc.) trades project, a contractor's license in Ohio is required. Residential licensing is regulated at the city/county level. To obtain your license, you will need to pass the Business and Law Exam along with your industry specific trade exam(s). Continuing Education is required for each renewal. Licenses may be renewed annually or every 3 years.

Renew Your License (Continuing Education)
Either 8 or 24 hours of electrical continuing education are required for Electricians (depending on your license length) each renewal. Half of the hours can be in a self-paced format whereas as the other half can be taken during a scheduled webinar.
