  • MM-3 Heat, Vent and Air Conditioning License

    Licensees are able to install, alter, repair and service HVAC air handling and refrigeration equipment and piping, including fans, coils, condensing units, self-contained packaged air conditioning or heating units, evaporative cooling units, solar energy systems, ductwork and pneumatic tube systems. May connect water to existing valved outlets, and install controls, and control wiring not to exceed 24 volts. May bid and contract for structural alterations, painting, electrical wiring and other work incidental to this scope of work, provided such work is performed by a properly licensed contractor.

How do I obtain a license?

To apply for your license, contact the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department at 505-476-4500 or visit the New Mexico board of licensing contractors website to submit online.

New Mexico requires 16 hours of continuing education for this license. New Mexico has reciprocity agreements for Journeyman licenses with Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming.

PASS THE STATE EXAM

How do I pass the exam?

The New Mexico exams are open book. The references below are permitted to be tabbed, highlighted, and used during your test! Unfortunately, our online course is NOT permitted to be accessed during the State exam.
