MM-2 Natural Gas Fitting License
Licensees are able to install, alter, repair and service natural gas piping and fittings and incidental controls and control wiring, pneumatic control systems, excavating, trenching and backfilling. Includes installation of hot water systems exceeding 30p.s.i. or 400,000 b.t.u/hour input; steam and hot water boilers; and warm air heating systems such as chimney connections, flues, refractories, burners, fittings valves, thermal insulation, accessories and incidental piping; warm air appliances and other listed gas appliances. May not install LP Gas Systems.

MM-2 Natural Gas Fitting Requirements- 4 years/8,000 hours of Experience
- Pass New Mexico Business and Law Exam
- Become an approved Qualifying Party
How do I obtain a license?
To apply for your license, contact the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department at 505-476-4500 or visit the New Mexico board of licensing contractors website to submit online.
New Mexico does require 16 hours of continuing education for this license. New Mexico has reciprocity agreements for Journeyman licenses with Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming.

New Mexico MM-2 Natural Gas Fitting Licensees must pass two examinations: MM-2 Natural Gas Fitting Contractor, and Business and Law exam.

Business Law Exam

How do I pass the exam?
The New Mexico exams are open book. The references below are permitted to be tabbed, highlighted, and used during your test! Unfortunately, our online course is NOT permitted to be accessed during the State exam.
