Contractor Licensing & Exam Prep

Arizona General Contractor Licenses are split into three license classifications: Residential, Commercial, and Dual. The state previously required all general contractors license applicants to pass a Statutes and Rules exam, but that has been replaced by the AZ Statutes and Rules Training Course and Exam (SRE) provided by the Registrar of Contractors. Applicants for contractor licenses are also required to meet certain experience and financial requirements which are outlined in the sections below.

At RocketCert, our goal is to help you pass the exams on your first try. We do this by providing the best online exam prep available. We also back our courses with a "no pass, no pay" policy so you can feel confident in your investment. We hope that you will make RocketCert your home to help you obtain your Arizona General Contractor License.

How do I obtain a contractor's license in Arizona?

To apply for your license, contact the Arizona Registrar of Contractors at 803-896-4686 or visit Registrar of Contractors website. A license may be issued to a sole proprietorship (individual), a partnership, limited liability company or a corporation. The contractor's license belongs to the legal entity of the contracting business and not to the qualifying party.

The state does not require continuing education prior to each renewal. Also, Arizona has reciprocity agreements with California, Nevada, and Utah.

With RocketCert, our education is written by a combination of professional educators and industry professionals. Our exam prep is guaranteed to help you pass the exam, and is backed with our no pass, no pay policy. We pride ourselves on providing industry leading customer service.
