Arizona General Contractor Licenses are split into three license classifications: Residential, Commercial, and Dual. The state previously required all general contractors license applicants to pass a Statutes and Rules exam, but that has been replaced by the AZ Statutes and Rules Training Course and Exam (SRE) provided by the Registrar of Contractors. Applicants for contractor licenses are also required to meet certain experience and financial requirements which are outlined in the sections below.
At RocketCert, our goal is to help you pass the exams on your first try. We do this by providing the best online exam prep available. We also back our courses with a "no pass, no pay" policy so you can feel confident in your investment. We hope that you will make RocketCert your home to help you obtain your Arizona General Contractor License.
This classification allows the licensee to construct, alter, and repair in connection with any structure built, being built, or to be built for the support, shelter, and enclosure of persons, animals, or movable property of any kind. This scope includes the supervision of all or any part of the above and includes the management, or direct or indirect supervision of any work performed. Work related to electrical, plumbing, air conditioning systems, boilers, swimming pools, spas and water wells must be subcontracted to an appropriately licensed contractor.
This classification allows the licensee to construct and repair all or any part of a residential structure or appurtenance. Work related to electrical, plumbing, air conditioning systems, boilers, swimming pools, spas and water wells must be subcontracted to an appropriately licensed contractor.
The Dual Building Contractor license allows the scope of work permitted by the B-1 General Commercial Contractor and the General Residential Contractor license.
