Alabama Contractor Licensing & Exam Prep
For most general contractor, electrical, HVAC, or plumbing licenses in Alabama, you must pass 2 exams: the Trade Exam & the Business and Law Exam. The Alabama Business & Law exams are open book. The book are allowed to be tabbed, highlighted, and used during your test! Unfortunately, our online course is NOT permitted to be accessed during the state exam.

What are the requirements to getting an Alabama contractor license?
Experience & Education
- Include education and work records in the application to have your experience considered during the application process. This step allows the board to determine the level and amount of work that may be performed. More information may be found in the application.
Legal
- Designate a Qualifying Party
- Be registered with the Alabama Secretary of State
- Provide proof of General Liability Insurance
- Provide Current Financial Statement
Examinations
- Pass the Trade exam for your license with a score of 70% or greater
- Pass the Business & Law Exam with a score of 70% or greater
