How do I obtain a license?
To apply for your license, contact the Ohio Construction Industry Licensing Board at 614-644-3493 or visit OCILB online.
The state requires continuing education prior to each renewal. Also, Ohio has reciprocity agreements for certain licenses.

The Commission will notify the applicant and PSI once an applicant has been approved to take the examination. The applicant will contact PSI to schedule the examination. Apply to sit for the exam on the state board website. Testing centers are setup throughout the State in larger cities. Pre-approval is required from the testing agency prior to scheduling the exam.

Ohio Contractors must pass two examinations: Trade exam and Business and Law exam.

In addition to the Business and Law Exam, the appropriate trade or construction exam must be passed.
How do I pass the exam?
The Ohio exams are open book. The references below are permitted to be tabbed, highlighted, and used during your test! Unfortunately, our online course is NOT permitted to be accessed during the State exam.
