What courses are available for me to take online?
How do I obtain my certification?
To obtain your certification, you must complete an approved alcohol training course that meets all of the requirements outlined below. In the District of Columbia, this certification must be renewed on a every three years.

After the training is complete and you've passed the assessment, you can instantly print your certificate of completion. To receive your ABC manager license, you must submit your certificate of completion to the D.C. Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis Administration.
What are the requirements for the Alcohol Training & Education?
Course Curriculum
- Alcohol's effect on the body and behavior, especially as to driving ability
- Recognizing the problem drinker
- Intervention techniques, involving methods of dealing with the problem customer who has had or is approaching the point of having had too much to drink
- Methods of recognizing and dealing with underage customers
- Prevention techniques involving effective identification and carding procedures, and methods to reasonably regulate the service of alcoholic beverage to patrons
- Explanation of Title 25, D.C. Official Code and Title 23, DCMR
- Advertising, promotion and marketing of alcoholic beverages
- Explanation that alcoholism is a chronic, progressive disease and that treatment is available through clinical providers and mutual support groups.
