Limited Licensed Plumber
This license allows licensees to perform plumbing work of less than $25,000 in certain municipalities.
- Plumbing Contractor
For many jobs, a Limited Plumbing license will not suffice, and a Plumbing Contractor License will be necessary. This license allows licensees to perform plumbing work including installation, repair, alterations, remodeling, or removal of various plumbing systems including water supply, waste, storm drainage, and non-medical gas piping.

How do I obtain a license?
To apply for your license, contact the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance at 615-741-2241. You can also visit the Tennessee board of licensing contractors website to submit online.
Tennessee does not require continuing education or have reciprocity agreements for this license.

How do I pass the exam?
The Tennessee exams are open book. The references below are permitted to be tabbed, highlighted, and used during your test! Unfortunately, our online course is NOT permitted to be accessed during the State exam.
