C-2D Low Voltage Contractor Licensing & Exam Prep
Nevada requires all Low Voltage Contractors to obtain a license before any bidding or work can take place. These licenses are administered by the Nevada State Contractors Board. In order to obtain a license, you must meet the experience and exam requirements set by the board. There are 2 exams you must pass to obtain a license: the Contractor Management Survey Exam and the C-2D Low Voltage Contractor Exam. C-2D Low Voltage Contractor License
The installation, alteration and repair of systems that use fiber optics or do not exceed 91 volts, including telephone systems, sound systems, cable television systems, closed 17 circuit video systems, satellite dish antennas, instrumentation and temperature controls, computer networking systems and landscape lighting.
What are the requirements to getting a license?
C-2D Electrical Requirements- Pass the Contractor Management Survey exam.
- Pass the C-2D Low Voltage Contractor exam.
- A cash or surety bond in an amount determined by the Board.
- Proof of Industrial Insurance and Worker’s Compensation Insurance.
- Provide a financial statement and bank verification form.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a journeyman, foreman, supervising employee or contractor in the classification requested.
- The Certificates and Resume of Experience will not be required if:
- The qualifier has served as a qualified employee in the same classification on another Nevada state contractor's license within the last 5 years; or
- You qualify for waiver of experience certification by endorsement based on your licensure in one of the states determined by Nevada to have substantially equivalent requirement.

How do I pass the exam?
The Nevada exams are open book. The references below are permitted to be tabbed, highlighted, and used during your test! Unfortunately, our online course is NOT permitted to be accessed during the State exam.
