How do I obtain a license?

In Kansas, licenses are administered on a county level and not a state level. Contact your local licensing board to submit an application.

Most counties require framing contractors to complete continuing education to renew their licenses. The required topics and number of hours vary between counties. Check with your local licensing authority for the most accurate information regarding continuing education. Reciprocity agreements exist between many counties in Kansas. Contact your local city, county, or jurisdiction to find out where your license has reciprocity agreements.
