What type of work can be done with this license?

Journeyman Gas Fitter License
A Journeyman Gas Fitter is a person who engages in or works at the actual installation, repair, or replacement of gas work. A Journeyman must operate under the supervision of a Master Gas Fitter.

Master Gas Fitter License
A Master Gas Fitter is any person engaged in or proposing to engage in the business of contracting to do, or of superintending the installation, maintenance, or repair of gas systems or gas work, either or both.
What are the requirements to getting a license?
Journeyman Gas Fitter- Pass the Journeyman Gas Fitter Exam
- 2 years as an apprentice
- Completion of a board approved apprenticeship program combined with time as a registered apprentice equal to 2 years
OR
Master Gas Fitter- 1 year of experience as a Journeyman Gas Fitter
- Pass the Master Gas Fitter Exam
How do I obtain a license?
To apply for your license, contact the Alabama HACR at (205) 945-4857 or visit Board Website.
Continuing education is not required for each renewal. Also, Alabama has no reciprocity agreements for this type of license.

How do I pass the exam?
The Alabama exams are open book. The references below are permitted to be tabbed, highlighted, and used during your test! Unfortunately, our online course is NOT permitted to be accessed during the State exam.
