An Electrician license is required for anyone in Oklahoma who works for compensation in any electrical activity. An Unlimited Electrical Contractor can lay out, install, maintain, repair, text, or replace all or part of electrical wires, conduits, apparatus, fixtures, appliances or equipment transmitting, carrying, controlling, or using electricity.
A Residential Electrical Contractor is limited to wiring buildings as defined in the National Electrical Code for one- and two-family dwellings.
A Limited Electrical Contractor in Oklahoma must be an owner, partner, or officer in an electrical firm and are prohibited from engaging the work of an apprentice or journeyman electrician.

In order to sit for the exam, you must submit the application for licensure to the state. It must include verified education and work experience as required by the state. Once approved, the state will contact you with an exam date and time.
