Plumbing License
A licensed plumber in Mississippi may perform unlimited commercial and residential plumbing NOT including fuel gas or boiler systems.
What are the requirements to getting a license?
General Requirements- Provide three reference letters. One must be from a bank or financial institution. The other reference letters can be submitted by any individual or entity applicant has worked with or for on construction related projects.
- Applicants must list all completed and incomplete projects over the last three years
- Certificate of insurance showing current general liability coverage. MSBOC must be listed on the policy as certificate holder to be notified in the event of cancellation of coverage.
- Certificate of worker’s compensation insurance coverage if applicant has 5 or more employees.
- Certificate showing proof of good standing with the Mississippi Secretary of State if applicant is a corporation, LLC, or LLP.

How do I obtain a license?
To apply for your license, contact the Mississippi State Board of Contractors at 601-354-6161 or visit Board Website.
No Continuing education is currently required for renewal. Also, Mississippi has reciprocity agreements with South Carolina, Louisiana, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Alabama.

Once you have passed your exams PSI will notify the Mississippi State Board of Contractors and the Board will process and approve your application. How do I pass the exam?
The Mississippi exams are open book. The references below are permitted to be tabbed, highlighted, and used during your test! Unfortunately, our online course is NOT permitted to be accessed during the State exam.
