Electrical Continuing Education & License Renewal
To renew your Electrical License (EE) or Master Electrician (ME) in Kentucky, you must complete 6 hours of continuing education annually. Electrical Contractors are also required to obtain 6 hours of continuing education per year. Individuals with both an electrician and an electrical contractor license are required to complete 12 hours of continuing education per year. All courses must be approved by the Kentucky Department of Housing, Buildings, and Construction.

How do I renew my electrical license in Kentucky?
Kentucky Electrical Licenses renewed on or after July 2024 will be valid for two years. To renew, you are required to complete 6 hours of continuing education per year. To renew your electrical contractor license in Kentucky, you will also need to complete 6 hours of continuing education per year. After that, you must submit your renewal to the Kentucky Department of Housing, Buildings, and Construction.
