In Kansas, contractors are not required to obtain a license from the State. Even though the State does not directly license roofing contractors, you must first obtain a Roofing Contractor Registration Certificate from the Kansas Attorney General. After this, you are required to obtain a license through your local city, county, or jurisdiction. The information on this page is based on the requirements for Johnson County, Sedgwick County, Shawnee County, and Douglas County licenses.
At RocketCert, we offer industry leading exam prep to help you pass your exam on the first try. In addition, we stock the references that you need and can use during the exam. All of our training is available online to help you achieve your goal of obtaining a Kansas Roofing Contractor License.
A Roofing Contractor License entitles the Licensee to perform work for the roofing of any building or structure, including the installation and repair of any roofing material; the installation or repair of roof sheathing; the installation, application, or repair of roof damp-proofing or weather-proofing; the installation of roof insulation panels or other roof insulation systems, and work incidental thereto; the repair of structural damage to an existing roof-support system; and the installation of skylights.
All roofers in the state of Kansas must first obtain this certificate.
