What type of work can be done with this license?

Master Plumber
A Master Plumber can design, install, construct, replace, service, repair, alter, or modify the pipes, fixtures, and other apparatus used for bringing the water supply into a building and removing liquid and water-carried wastes from a building. A Master Plumber can also install and connect gas piping.
What are the requirements to getting a license?
With a Journeyman Certificate- Submit a copy of your apprenticeship program Certificate of Completion.
- Submit proof of at least two years work experience under the supervision of a master licensee after receiving Certificate.
- Pass the required Master Plumber exam
Without a Journeyman Certificate- Submit proof of at least seven years work experience under supervision of a master licensee.
- If approved, you will be notified that you may take the Apprenticeship By-Pass Exam, offered by Delaware apprenticeship schools.
- Pass the required Master Plumber exam AND the Apprenticeship By-Pass Exam
How do I obtain a license?
To apply for your license, contact the Delaware Board of Plumbing, Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Examiners at 302-744-4500 or visit the DPR website to submit online.
Delaware does not require continuing education for Master Plumbers. Delaware has reciprocity agreements for Master Plumbers in Connecticut, Iowa, Maryland, and limited agreements with Alabama, Arkansas, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia.

The first step is to obtain pre-approval for your exam. This can be obtained after creating an account on the DELPROS online portal through the state website and begin the application for licensure.
After you receive approval notification, you may call one of the following schools to schedule your test date for the Apprenticeship By-Pass Exam:

How do I pass the exam?
The Delaware exams are open book. The references below are permitted to be tabbed, highlighted, and used during your test! All reference materials must be bound. Unfortunately, our online course is NOT permitted to be accessed during the State exam.
