As the name implies, a Residential Plumber in Colorado is restricted to up to four-family dwellings, while Journeymen and Master Plumbers may engage in commercial work as well. Find out more information below. All of our training is offered in an online self-paced format. Our exam prep is designed to help you pass your test the first time, and is backed with our no pass, no pay policy. All of our courses are available from almost any device, any time. We hope that you will make RocketCert your home to help you obtain your Colorado Plumbing License.
A Journeyman Plumber has the ability to perform the installation, alteration, repair, and renovation of plumbing. A Journeyman must operate under the supervision of a Master Plumber.
A Master Plumber has the abilities of a Journeyman with the added abilities to plan, lay out, and install and repair plumbing apparatus and equipment including the supervision of such. A Master Plumber may work independently.
Licensees have the ability to install plumbing and equipment in one-, two-, three-, and four-family dwellings, which shall not extend more than two (2) stories aboveground.
To apply for your license, contact the Colorado Division of Professions and Occupations at 303-894-7800 or visit the Board Website.
On or after May 1, 2021, all licensed Residential, Journeyman, and Master Plumbers must complete eight (8) hours of Continuing Education (CE) each year. Licenses are renewed every odd year. Also, Colorado manages reciprocity arrangements on a case-by-case basis. Check with the board to get the most accurate and up-to-date information.
