Whether you already have a Construction Supervisor License (CSL) in Massachusetts or you plan on obtaining one, you'll need to know what the requirements for renewing your license are.

There are three different types of construction supervisor licenses in Massachusetts, and each one comes with its own requirements. These three are:

• Unrestricted Construction Supervisor License
• Restricted Construction Supervisor License
• Specialty Construction Supervisor License

While all types of this license require that the bearer completes continuing education courses prior to each renewal, they differ in how many hours are required.

For example, the unrestricted license requires twelve hours of CE, while the restricted demands ten hours, and the specialty license requires six hours of continuing education prior to renewal.

Taking the Required CE Courses Online for MA Construction Supervisor License Renewal

Keep in mind that you cannot request a renewal application before you have completed your CE courses, and you also will need to pay the appropriate fee. If your license is up to date and current, you will be required to pay a $100 renewal fee.

However, if you are planning to renew a license that has been expired for less than two years, you will need to plan on paying a $200 fee. It is also important to remember that:

• You can renew in person, by mail, or online
• There is a one-year grace period after expiration to renew your license
• You must take an exam and get a new license if your license expired over two years ago
