Wyoming Water Well Drilling License & Education
Water Well Driller Continuing Education & License Renewal
Wyoming Water Well Driller Licenses must be renewed every three years on December 31st. In order to renew, you must complete 18 hours of continuing education courses. All training must be approved by the Wyoming Water Well Contractors Licensing Board. Licensees can complete 18 hours of continuing education online with RocketCert. What are the required topics and hours for my water well driller license?
Hours & Topics
The goal of the following topics is to assist the licensee in fulfilling the board’s objective of protecting the public from the unprofessional or unethical practices of water well drillers in Wyoming. Licensees are required to earn a minimum of 9 hours in well construction and 9 hours in water well pump installation to fulfill the CPC requirement for license renewal.
- Topics related to the industry, including but not limited to:
- Water Wells or Pump Systems Technology, Science, or Health
- Business Practices
- Worker Health and Safety
- Government Rules & Regulations
Exemptions:
- Drilling an oil or gas well or installing a pump in an oil or gas well, where the oil and gas well is permitted pursuant to W.S. 30-5-115;
- Installing a pump in a well on land owned by or leased to him or on which he is employed on a regular basis;
- Drilling a monitor well that does not require a permit from the State Engineer;
- Drilling a well on land owned by him; or
- Operating drilling equipment or conducting other drilling or boring operations which do not require a permit from the State Engineer to appropriate ground water (e.g., uranium test holes).
