How Do I Obtain a Mold Remediation License in Louisiana?
Passing an approved training course is not the only thing you must do to obtain a license. Applicants must submit a license application with the proper state or local boards and satisfy their individual licensing requirements. You must also obtain the proper insurance coverage. In Louisiana, mold remediation licenses expire every 1, 2, or 3 years. To renew your license you must pay the renewal fee and provide proof of general liability and workers' compensation insurance.

Once your application is approved you will receive the Business and Law course information from the board. You must also complete 24 hours of mold remediation and mold assessment training from an approved provider.
Once your license is issued it is your responsibility to keep it up to date. Your initial license will be valid for one year. After your initial license expires, you may choose to renew your license every 1, 2, or 3 years. On top of renewing your license at the end of each licensing period, you must also be sure to maintain all of the required insurance coverage throughout licensure.

Financial Requirements
- Financial statement showing a minimum new worth of $10,000 (must be current within 12 month of application)
- Proof of General Liability Insurance of at least $50,000
- Proof of Workers' Compensation Insurance
- Maintain insurance coverage throughout licensure
