What are the Maryland Home Inspector License requirements?

    Applicants must submit the following to the Maryland Department of Labor:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 72 Hours of On-Site Home Inspector Training approved by the Commission
  • Evidence of Passing Score on the NHIE
  • Certificate of Insurance with coverage of $150,000 or more in General Liability
  • Applicable Fees
  • Completed and Signed Application

How do I obtain an Maryland home inspector license?

To apply for your license, contact the Maryland Department of Labor at 410-230-6363 or visit their website. Maryland requires 72 hours of training by approved providers. Licensed home inspectors in Maryland expire every two years based on the date of issuance. Maryland requires 30 hours of continuing education biennially, no more than 30% of total continuing education hours can be performed online.

How do I pass the Maryland home inspector exam?
