In Rhode Island, the food handler card expires every 3 years from the date it was issued. For re-certification you must take an approved training course.

- Some jurisdictions may require employees to complete the training before they are employed in the city / town (Pawtucket & Smithfield)
- Your alcohol server permit must be on the premises when you are engaged in the sale or service of alcoholic beverages
