Barber Continuing Education
Barber licenses in North Dakota expire every two years. You are required to complete at least 6 hours of continuing education to renew. The CE topics are set by the board and must comply with their requirements. More information on these topics can be found in the sections below.

How to I Renew my North Dakota Cosmetology License?
In North Dakota, you are required to complete 6 hours of state approved continuing education every 2 years in order to renew your license. Check your license for the year and date it will expire on.

- These hours may be completed through:
- Seminars or workshops conducted by barber and cosmetology supply dealers or barbers licensed in this state, if an affidavit is signed by the person conducting the seminar or workshop indicating that the barber has attended the seminar or workshop.
- Registration and attendance at the board's annual state barber convention
- Correspondence courses by video, if accompanied by a worksheet to be filled out and returned to the board
- Any other education that relates to or increases competence in the practice of barbering, if approved by the board
