Cosmetologist Continuing Education
Individual cosmetology licenses in Minnesota expire every two years. The expiration date for you license will be the last day of your birthday month in the year it expires. You are required to complete at least 8 hours of continuing education to renew. The CE topics are set by the board and must comply with their requirements. Half of the 8 hour requirement must be "Core" and the other half must be "Professional Practice". More information on these topics can be found in the sections below.

How do I Renew my Minnesota Cosmetology License?
In Minnesota, you are required to complete 8 hours of state approved continuing education every 2 years in order to renew your license. The expiration date for all cosmetology licenses is the last day of your birthday month. Check your license for the year it will expire in.
