In Louisiana, Cosmetology instructor licenses expire every year. In order to renew, the state requires that you complete 16 hours of approved continuing education. The topics of the education are set by the board and must comply with their requirements. All instructors with a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience and who have attended 16 hours of CE each year will be issued a Master Instructor license.
