Cosmetology Continuing Education
Cosmetology licenses expire annually on April 30th, Barber licenses expire on March 31st of even-numbered years. In Colorado, barbers and cosmetologists are not required to complete continuing education for standard license renewal. However, if a license has been expired for more than two years, continuing education is required to demonstrate competency. Required hours can be found down below. The CE topics are set by the board and must comply with their requirements. More information on these topics can be found in the sections below.

How do I Renew my Colorado Cosmetology License?
In Colorado, you will be required to complete 16 to 24 hours of continuing education to reinstate your license if it has been expired for over 2 years.
