Electrical Continuing Education
The South Dakota Electrical Commission requires all Electrical license holders to complete 16 hours of approved continuing education prior to renewal. Licenses must be renewed on every even year on the original license issue date. All of the courses we offer on this page have been approved by the South Dakota Electrical Commission, and they cover important topics like the changes to the National Electric Code.
Currently, the state is allowing licensees to complete the required continuing education online. After you finish, you are required to fax, mail, or email a completed renewal form directly to the SD Electrical Commission. You can fill this form digitally or you can print it out to fill by hand. How do I renew my Electrical license in South Dakota?
In South Dakota, the Electrical licenses expire every even numbered year. To renew, you are required to complete 16 hours of continuing education by June 30th. Currently, all training hours may be completed online.
