If you hold an Iowa Mechanical License, here's what you need to know about renewals. Licenses are issued and renewed through the Iowa Plumbers and Gas Fitters Examining Board. They require single license holders to complete 8 hours of continuing education prior to renewal. If you hold multiple mechanical licenses, either 14 or 16 hours are required. Regardless of the amount required, half of them may be taken online. Find more details in the sections below. What courses are available for me to take online?
How do I renew my Mechanical license in Iowa?
In Iowa, the license expires every three years. All licenses issued or renewed after May 1, 2020, will expire on June 30, 2023. To renew, you are required to complete the required continuing education and submit your renewal to the State.
