Air Conditioning Electrician License
License holders are permitted to perform the installation, maintenance, and extension of electrical conductors and equipment solely for the purpose of supplying heating and air conditioning and refrigeration units
What are the requirements to getting a license?
Air Conditioning Electrician License Requirements- Pass the Air Conditioning Electrician exam (pre-approval is required)
- 2 years of experience wiring HVACR equipment OR wiring one or two family dwellings
- The 2 years of experience my also be demonstrated by hold an:
- HVACR electrician's license issued by an Arkansas municipality
- HVACR Class A or B license issued by the state HVACR Licensing Board
How do I obtain a license?
To apply for your license, contact the Arkansas Electrical Inspection and Licensing Division at 501-682-4547 or visit Board Website.
8 Hours of continuing education are required for each renewal. Also, Journeyman Electrical Contractors have reciprocity agreements with Alaska, New Mexico, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Colorado, while Master Electricians only with Oregon.
