What type of work can be done with this license?

Mechanical Inspector
Persons certified as A-Level Mechanical Inspectors may conduct construction inspections and may review construction plans for all work regulated by the Oregon Mechanical Specialty Code.

How do I obtain a license?
To apply for your Mechanical Inspector license, contact the Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services at 503-373-1268 or visit their website.
Certified code enforcement officers in Oregon are required to complete code change courses and high-priority training when needed. The division may determine that a code change course is not required if a given code was not significantly changed or the division otherwise determined a code change course is unnecessary. Licenses are to be renewed every three years (2023, 2026, 2029, etc.).

- Topics Include: Definitions, General Regulations, Ventilation, Exhaust Systems, Duct Systems, Combustion Air, Combustion Air Sizing, Chimneys and Vents, Vent Sizing, Installation of Specific Appliances, Boilers, Refrigeration, Hydronics, Fuel Gas, Referenced Standards
How do I pass the exam?
The exam prep includes math, geometry, highlighting guides covering the topics your exam is based on, practice questions for each references, and unlimited attempts on our "test simulation".
