Registered Building Code Official Continuing Education
Registered Building Code Officials, Inspectors and Plan Reviewers are required to complete 34-44 hours of continuing education every 3 years by September 16th. Completion of these hours must be reported to the Michigan Bureau of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs. Continuing education hours can be completed in an online, self-paced format with RocketCert.

How do I renew my building code official registration in Michigan?
In Michigan, Registered Building Code Officials expire every 3 years by September 16th. To renew, holders must complete 34-44 hours of continuing education courses, depending on your specialty. After that, you must submit your renewal to the Michigan Bureau of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs.
