Cosmetology Instructor Continuing Education
In Louisiana, cosmetology instructor licenses expire every 2 years. In order to renew, the state requires that you complete 16 hours of approved continuing education. The topics of the education are set by the board and must comply with their requirements.
All instructors with a minimum of five consecutive years teaching experience and who attend 16 hours of approved continuing education for five consecutive years will receive a master cosmetology instructor license. Those who hold a master instructor license will need to complete 16 hours of continuing education every year.

What are the required topics and hours for my license?
Instructors who have at least five consecutive years of teaching experience and complete 16 hours of approved continuing education each year for five years will be awarded a Master Instructor License.
