Auctioneer Continuing Education & License Renewal
Kentucky auctioneer licenses must be renewed every year by May 31st. In order to renew, you must complete 6 hours of continuing education courses. All training must be approved by the Kentucky State Board of Auctioneers.

How do I renew my auctioneer license in Kentucky?
In Kentucky, auctioneer licenses expire annually on 5/31. To renew, you are required to complete 6 hours of continuing education. After that, you must submit your renewal to the Kentucky State Board of Auctioneers.

What are the required topics and hours for my license?
Hours & Topics
The goal of the following topics is to assist the licensee in fulfilling the board’s objective of protecting the public from the unprofessional or unethical practices of auctioneers in Kentucky.

Exemptions
Note: A licensee that has been licensed for 25 years continuously still needs to take continuing education every year, but no longer has to take the Core Education Course.
Exemptions from the continuing education requirements:
- Individuals who possess a Kentucky license originally issued before 1980.
- Individuals who possess only a Limited Livestock Auctioneer License. These are only due every 4 years.
- License is in escrow.
- An individual who passed an exam between July 1st and June 30th and is issued an initial license.
